Western Ukraine has always been at the crossroads of many countries. Mr. Eugene has shown a strange love for cemeteries since childhood, and is now the author of more than 100 monuments. It plays an important social role in its environment: it draws attention to memory and reconciliation, creating monuments in honor of people who have found eternal rest in a small western Ukrainian city. Throughout the film, we observe this eccentric gentleman with a home-grown philosophy and sense of humor who manages to combine cosmopolitanism and asceticism with an active and provocative role in the daily life of the community.
