An amazing, sophisticated Baroque style came to Ukraine in the mid-seventeenth century, in an era of liberation wars and the awakening of national consciousness. Ukraine has given the world its version of Baroque, enriching it with traditions of folk art and architecture.
The film shows only the Kiev style of Ukrainian Baroque, preserved and destroyed masterpieces of architecture. Among them are the creations of Rastrelli and Grigorovich-Barsky.
