In 1920-30 in Ukraine there was a school of monumental painting. They were called Boychukists, students and ascetics of Mikhail Boychuk: Vasyl Sedler, Ivan Padalko, Sophia Nemytynsky-Boychuk, Maria Prymak, Antonina Ivanova, Oksana Pavlenko. However, their creativity did not like the Stalinist regime. The school was crushed, the leaders shot, the works destroyed. It is only by chance that something of great heritage has been preserved.
