The history of Ukraine does not need fantasies and assumptions. Known facts are enough to be proud of your past and your country. From Danil to Vytautas is a film about the least known days of the XIII-XV centuries, from the days of King Danylo Halytsky to Prince Vytautas the Great, a period that was hardly covered in history and little known to Ukrainians. The middle of the XIII century. Invasion of the Mongols. The Galician-Volyn Kingdom relies on military talents and the authority of Prince Daniel and his son Leo, successfully defending their lands against the Mongols. Lviv, the Hill and other cities are being built, trade is flourishing Seeking international support, King Danilo seeks the Pope to announce in 1253 a crusade against the Mongols, who is not supported by the European nobility. During the Mongol invasion, the Lithuanian principality strengthened in the north. With the weakening of the Galicia-Volyn state, Lithuanian Prince Gediminus began to actively expand its territories at the expense of the Slavic lands. The throne of King Danilo is occupied by a relative of the Galician family, Prince of Lubart, son of Gediminus of Lithuania. In 1410, the combined Polish and Russo-Lithuanian troops, under the leadership of the Polish King Jagiello and the Lithuanian prince Vitovt, defeat the Crusaders' troops in the Battle of Grunwald.
