One of the most ancient cities in Ukraine. It is first mentioned in the Ipatiev Chronicle of 1100. At the end of the sixteenth century, Ostroh became a prominent cultural and educational center. The Greco-Slavic-Latin College was founded, and the first printing house was founded by Ivan Fyodorov, a Ukrainian tycoon.
