Faith, having buried her mother, arranged to work as a maid in a magnificent mansion. The house is very strange: there is a room on the second floor where it is strictly forbidden to enter, the owner Vira has never seen. Only by the strange noise from the second floor does she realize that this is where the mysterious master lives.
When a robber is taken to the house, Vera gets acquainted with the owner of the mansion – Leonid. She learns that the husband has lost a daughter, whose death he blames himself for. Faith's concern gradually helps Leonid "get out of the cocoon" and return to a fulfilling life, with sympathy between them.
