Based on Oleksa Kolomiyets' play Wild Angel.
About the Ukrainian family, the earth, the saints and simple truths, against the background of the most revered holiday in Ukraine — Christmas.
Platon Angel is a principled surgeon who raised three sons. However, the sons split from the family because of their abhorrent, in Platon's opinion, behaviour. Younger Pavlyk marries a young student, which prompts Angel to expel the young man from the home. Middle Fedir fell in love with a married doctor, Klava. A senior, influential official signed a highly controversial decree for the construction of houses that Platon regarded as an unjust act. However, Platon's subsequent actions reunited and reconciled the family.
