In 1908 Filaret Kolessa's expedition to the Dnieper Ukraine was organized by the spouses Lesia Ukrainka and Kliment Kvitka. The purpose of the expedition was to preserve the traditional kobza and lyric repertoire. The recording of the kobzars was done with the help of an Edison phonograph on wax flashlights. Today we can hear the voice of an unknown kobzar singing the thought of an infantryman. A voice that connects the centuries of struggle of the Ukrainian people for their freedom. The action of the Duma takes place in the Nogai steppe - that is, in the Donbass. The video footage is a chronicle of events around the DAP during the active phase of combat in the winter of 2015, actually at Christmas. Dedicated to all the defenders of our land.
