The history of the inhabitants of the Romanian village of Krasna, located in the territory of Ukraine. They are preparing for the holiday of Lightning, a holiday that is a landmark event for every red man. And for young Krasnyansk guys it is a kind of initiation rite in life. Lightning is a carnival where everyone participates and plays their part in a bizarre pagan act.
The film is made up of 5 short stories about the fate of the main characters. Each of the novels reveals the nature and essence of one of the characters of the holiday of Lightning against the background of different events and life collisions, recorded with the participation of different people. Heroes are representatives of a certain archetype of a holiday character, so to speak, the role is one – the actors are different. The character, who goes through a kind of counterpoint through all the novels, is the mask master George Illich. The stories and storylines of all the characters constantly intersect and intertwine throughout the film, as if on a large canvas.
