The story of the events in Western Ukraine before the Second World War, the coming of Soviet power, the change of borders and the disappearance of entire countries from the world map. The tape was created on the basis of archival documents, materials and memoirs of witnesses, representatives of the Ukrainian, Polish and Jewish peoples of pre-war Galicia, who, until the 1940s, formed the main ethnic composition of the region. The film uses newsreels and commentary from leading historians.
