The Seul le cinéma film research studio ("Cinema Only") will take place in Odessa from August 23 to 29, 2021.
The intensive program includes seven days of practice in the practice and theory of film criticism, film screenings, supervised discussions and debates.
The event will be mentored by French film producer and co-founder of Des courts l’après-midi Elsa Minicini and Aix-Marseille lecturer Denis Alcaniz. Ukrainian lecturers of the program are Olga Bryukhovetska, Daria Bador and Yulia Kovalenko.
The organizers are waiting for applications from students and young journalists (16-25 years old) who are interested in film research. Previous experience is not required, creative work and reasoned motivation of applicants are important.
To respond to an open-call, you must fill out an application (by July 18, 2021), which includes contact information, a cover letter in any form and your film review without format restrictions. The results will be announced on July 25.
The studio pays for participants' travel to Odessa, accommodation and two meals a day during the program. "Cinema Only" will be supported by the European Union and the Goethe-Institut Ukraine under the House of Europe program.
