On March 10, at 19:00, the Ukrainian Film Academy will hold a webinar with the participation of documentary and feature film director Yulia Gontaruk. Air "Documentary about the war. The experience of shooting a female director" will take place as part of HeForShe Arts Week 2021.
The following topics will be discussed during the webinar:
- Documentary - knowledge of self and the world. Observation
- The hero in the documentary
- The specifics of filming in a military conflict
- Author's motivation. How not to lose the confidence and importance of what you shoot on the way to the finals.
The conversation with the guest will be moderated by Ivanna Khitsinska, OIFF Fundraising Director, Director of the Ukrainian Film Industry Association, Director of the Association of Advertising Productions of Ukraine.
Yulia Gontaruk is a Ukrainian director of documentary and feature films. Co-founder of the creative association "Babylon'13". Since 2013 he has been a member of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine. In 2015, he was nominated for the Shevchenko Prize in Cinema. Since 2016 he has been a member of the Ukrainian Film Academy. With the beginning of the Revolution of Dignity, Julia, along with other filmmakers, created the creative association "Babylon'13". Her creative work includes such films as "Iron Hundred", "Ten Seconds", "Heavenly Hundred. Winter that changed us "," Stronger than weapons "," Euromaidan. Draft Editing "," Alcoholic "and more than 35 documentaries for" Babylon'13 ". Julia is currently working on a feature film project "Gas Station".
The event will take place as part of HeForShe Arts Week 2021, which is being held by UN Women Ukraine for the fourth time.
The HeForShe movement, founded by the UN Women, is a global solidarity movement in support of gender equality, in which men and boys become the main agents of change.
