The first Carpathian Mountain International Film Festival (CMIFF), organized by the Transcarpathian Film Commission, will be held from 1 to 10 October 2020.
Applications for participation in the festival are open on the FilmFreeway portal.
Six competition programs will be presented at CMIFF:
- feature films;
- full-length documentaries,
- short feature films;
- short documentaries;
- animated films;
- commercials.
The films will be judged by a jury consisting of producers, directors, screenwriters, cameramen, actors and film critics.
Additional festival programs will include screenings of world cinema on mountain topics, a series of panel discussions, workshops and creative meetings with experts from the world film industry and experts in mountain tourism.
The organizers also want to hold promotional events for manufacturers of equipment for active recreation and mountain sports, a photo exhibition-competition on the theme of the Carpathian Mountains. The entertainment program will include theme parties and other special events. Screenings of the festival's winning films are also planned in Mukachevo, Khust and Beregovo.
According to CMIFF director Oleksandr Meryavchyk, the atmosphere of the festival will inspire fans of the mountains and everything connected with them to travel to the Carpathians.
