Children Kinofest will take place online from May 29 to June 7, 2020 at www.childrenkinofest.com. All impressions are free, by pre-registration on the site. The retrospective film and the works of the finalists of the children's short film competition, which are part of the out-of-competition program, will be available for viewing as special events on a schedule - within one day.

Traditionally, the competition program includes seven films for viewers from 4 years old, selected at the largest European film forums. The winner of the festival is determined by its audience - after watching the films, viewers will be invited to evaluate their impressions.

A retrospective screening of the festival will be a selection of films by Georges Melies - one of the founders of world cinema, the first in the history of the author of special effects and editing tricks.

The festival will host the Children's Film Competition for the fourth time. Traditionally, the winners will be determined by a jury of Ukrainian filmmakers - producer and director of the Odessa International Film Festival Yulia Sinkevych, star of the series "First Swallows" actor Maxim Samchyk and animator Oleg Malamuzh, author of "The Stolen Princess". Viewers of the screening of children's short films will also be invited to vote online and choose the winner in the nomination "Audience Choice Award" - the authors of the best film in this category will receive 10 thousand hryvnias. The finalists will be announced on May 19.

The honorary ambassador of the festival in 2020 was musician, producer, songwriter and frontman of the group "Boombox" Andriy Khlyvniuk.

A special event dedicated to Children's Day (June 1), organized by the festival together with the New Channel, will be the online premiere of last year's winner of the Children Film Festival - the animated fantasy "Stolen Princess" by Oleg Malamuzh (produced by Animagrad studio). The film will be available on the festival website from June 1 to 7 inclusive.

The mission of the festival is to develop in Ukraine the tradition of joint family movie screenings and to involve children in making movies.
