From December 5 to December 11, the Kiev cinema "October" will host for the first time "Eurofest: a movie for everyone" - a European film festival created to enhance tolerance and equality in Ukrainian society, as well as to increase leisure opportunities for people with disabilities.
The festival will feature 8 European film hits - the winners of European festivals. They all touch on different aspects of inclusivity - age, race, gender, sexual orientation, and more.
Eurofest, organized with the support of the European Union-funded Cultural Bridges program within the framework of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement, is implemented by the British Council in Ukraine in partnership with EUNIC - Network of National Institutes of Culture of the European Union.
Movies are shown in the original subtitle. Two films from the program, "Champions" and "Portrait of a Girl on Fire", will be screened with a commentary (an additional audio track explaining what's going on in the movie scenes for visually impaired people) and an adapted subtitle (a text track accompanying the movie captions) at the bottom of the screen for hearing impaired people).
