Visitors to the event were able to attend free shows of competition and non-competition programs, workshops, lectures, meetings with directors, producers, screenwriters and actors.
During the 5 days of the festival, besides watching the tapes, the visitors watched the projection 3D show "Chronoevazher Levarius and the Cursed Aurinia", a contest of cosplayers "Brukivka's Cosplay Battle", a cover contest, a show of transformers, and also during the round table they could discuss the names of the names Ukrainian cinematography.
This year's film festival was held at 6 locations: Old Fortress, ZAGATA Pub, Barbershop 11.43, Sazhotrus Restaurant, Yunost Cinema and the City House of Culture, which hosted the largest number of events.
Director and Artistic Director of Mask Show Theater Georgi Deliev, Ukrainian playwright, director Alexander Denysenko, screenwriters of the Forbidden Artemy Kirsanov and Serhiy Dzyuba and many other representatives of Ukrainian cinematography attended the III International BRUKIVKA Film Festival.
The jury in different nominations consisted of "Insight Media" producer Vladimir Filippov, screenwriter, director Vladimir Nagorny, producer from the USA Nick Finch, members of the Ukrainian Film Academy and the Union of Film Critics of Ukraine Denis Budanov and Oleksandr Gusyevsky of the Committee (Oleksandr Guseyevsky) distribution company "Letter To Fest" sisters Marina and Oksana Artemenko, director and animator Tatiana Yasinchuk, actor and blogger Vitaliy Gordienko.
The festival was attended by more than 300 participants from Ukraine, the USA, France and Germany and was attended by more than 4,500 spectators.
About 800 works from 72 countries were nominated for such a short film, animation, documentary, feature film and horror film. The competition program selected 90 works of participants.

The documentary program of the festival was opened by the film by American director Philip Rodriguez, "The Rise and Fall of Brown Buffalo", produced by Oscar-winning Benicio Del Toro. Also in the program of international documentaries was a film called Baba Babi Told, which tells the little-known history of Ukrainian children on the line of the Nazi-Soviet front in World War II. New Jersey film director Matthew Siletsky, who visited the film festival to personally present the tape to viewers. As well as this year's nominee for the Oscar "Gulag Women" by Mariana Jaworska.
French filmmakers Sammy Hossenny, Alexander Brecher and producer Alexander Silegovich were invited to present their own film "Messages in a Bottle". The film tells the story of a teacher from the city of Yaounde who, through music, entices children in the forests of Pygmy to study at school.
The Ukrainian documentary was presented by the film about the life of the Ukrainian director Leonid Kanter “The Man with the Stool” by Yaroslav Popov, “The First Hundred” by Yaroslav Pilunsky, “The View from a Wheelchair” by Oleg Pavlyuchenkov and “The Kharkov Holocaust” by Anton Galushka-Adaykin.
The national full-length program was opened by the film directed by Alexander Denysenko “Taras. Return, which tells about the period of exile of Taras Shevchenko in Kazakhstan. There was also a special screening of the film Forbidden and a meeting with its screenwriters Sergiy Dziuba and Artemi Kirsanov. It is a feature-length film, a biographical drama, a metaphorical story of the tragic and mysterious death of the most powerful Sixties poet, human rights activist, hero of Ukraine Vasyl Stus and his struggle with the system.
During the creative meeting with Georgi Delyev, the presentation of the Odessa Podkidok ribbon took place. According to the plot, the eccentric and childless Odessa artist, Sir Pinhus, who dreams of grandchildren, decides to adopt an adult son first. He finds Arkash, a 50-year-old magician, released from the colony to work as a stoker in the house. This is a classic comedy of provisions and at the same time a comedy of characters, a fun and a bit sad story about Odessa and the Odessites, so different, but in some ways similar.
Within the framework of the national program, a mystical-philosophical thriller with elements of drama and the detective "13 bus" was presented in the category "Full meter". According to the scenario, a conversation with a woman who is waiting for the bus to stop the existing thirteenth bus becomes a turning point in the lives of all her interlocutors. Andriy Ivaniuk's "Skhidnyak" tape was shown in the same category. Starring Bogdan Beniuk and Anatoly Maksimyuk, who drive an old car in the ATO zone between the front line and the frontline villages. The film has a tense atmosphere, sometimes with machine-gun speed spitting words out, constantly in a nervous state.
For children and adults the screening of "The Bobot and the Energy of the Universe" was screened - a Ukrainian family-owned fantasy film made by Max Xend. The film is about a 12-year-old dreamer who finds himself at the center of a confrontation between two alien forces.
The international program included three full-length debut directors from the United States - "Banana Peel" by Benjamin Kasulke, "Wasted Hours" by Peter Mahaffey, "Artik" by Tom Bochia and "The Minor" by Ulissa Landaro from Italy.
The short program consisted of 9 films from Italy, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Turkey, Brazil, Israel, Poland, Slovakia and Germany and 34 films from Ukraine.
Night of the Horror Films at the Old Fortress
This year, the Old Fortress became one of the main locations of the film festival, where on Friday, September 13, the official opening of the III International BROKIVKA International Film Festival took place.
After the opening of the red carpet, the performance of well-known Ukrainian music groups and competition for the best cover for the famous soundtrack began. There were also creative meetings with Ukrainian directors and a presentation of the project of the film "Bandit" by Volodymyr Nagorny and Georgi Deliev.
An evening of cinema in the Old Fortress began with Zen Yevtsigneikin's art film "Tasty", which was created with the support of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine. German director Oliver More introduced his new film "GASOLINE", which starred well-known Ukrainian actress Kateryna Molchanova.
As part of the screening, attendees were able to see the best short horror films of national and international competition programs. At midnight the festival organizers presented the first part of the horror film anthology about Kamyanets-Podilsky, “The CERVIDAE” by director Andriy Zayets.
Projection 3D show "Timekeeper Levarius and the Cursed Aurinia"
On Friday at the Papal (Karmalyuk's) Tower, a grandiose theatrical light 3D show "The Chronovojager Levarius and the Cursed Aurinia" with the participation of the Link Theater and a fiery show. The project was worked on by the professional manager of Ukraine Yuriy Gurin, actor of the theater and cinema Valery Svereda, director Andriy Zayets and Kamyanets-Podilsky Theater "Link". In addition to modern special effects, the performance involved the interaction of 3D projection characters and live actors.
Brukivka's Cosplay Batle and Robot Show
For the second time, the Brukivka's Cosplay Battle cosplayers contest has been reunited with fantastic costumes and a full auditorium.
The Robot Show has added a lot of fun and fun to the children. The famous Transformers Megatron, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee staged a wonderful show at the BROKOVKA International Film Festival. Robots' costumes are created by Any Robots, which has been producing them for 4 years for meetings, cosplay and filming.

Traditionally, workshops, lectures and meetings with prominent representatives of the Ukrainian and foreign film industry took place at the film festival.
Director Vladimir Nagorny and actor Georgi Deliev presented the project of the new comedy film "BanDiti". VJ and designer Yuri Gurin gave a hands-on lecture on "3D-mapping and visualization as a new kind of contemporary art," and a plasticine masterclass illustrating "Me and My Imagination" by Tatiana Yasinchuk for children and adults.
Cosplay fans had the opportunity to attend a lecture on crafting sophisticated costumes for business and cinema by the founders of Any Robots and a makeup workshop by Sofia Sheremety. In addition, the experience of filmmaking was shared by Artemenko sisters and Vitaliy Gordienko on the art of video blogging. "Once in a town on a rock."
The film-closing of the III International Film Festival "BRUKIVKA" became the Ukrainian adventure western "Once in a Town on a Stone". The film tells about the adventures of an ATO veteran from Donbass with the call sign "Alone" who, having lost his native home and loved one in the war, came to Kamianets-Podilsky in search of a new life, the passing of Denis, who is constantly dreaming of his own place in the sun, and the head of the local bandit group Sasha, who has plans to realize her "Ukrainian Dream".
The director of the film is the organizer of the Andrey Zayets Film Festival, for which it was the debut of a feature film. He has also acted as cameraman, screenwriter, editor, sound engineer and author of several soundtracks. Production of the film began in 2016 and was shot on an amateur camcorder without budget and professional actors.
The project involved more than 150 Kamianchans, including actors from local Tandem and Link theaters, members of KVC music groups and teams, choreographers, artists and anyone who enjoys modern experimental cinema. An interesting fact is that while working on the film, the script was written gradually and no one knew how it would end. The main roles were performed by Karapet Bajaksusyan, Denis Chornyi, Oleksandr Levchuk, Danylo Kolesnyk, Maxim Koval, Anastasia Vvedenskaya, Anastasia Dyubinskaya, Georgy Toryanyk, Andriy Goncharov, Yevgeny Pazyuk, Valery Svereda, Vladimir Chernyak and others.
The soundtrack consists of tracks from local bands such as ZAPASKA, ZiQ, NO-Theater, Street Fames, BEKINGEM, EXPANSION, Missing Literacy and Kind. In total, over 40 hours of material were taken during the production of Once Upon a Time in the Rock, and the rough editing took more than 200 minutes.
“We did one of the biggest film festivals in Ukraine in 2019, which has been called“ Ukrainian Sundance ”by over a dozen guests and directors. More than 4000 live audiences on film screenings and various performances, several hundred participants, cinematographers from France, USA, Germany and Ukraine came to present their works in Kamianets-Podilskyi.
As always, the board game club "Mr. Miple" was attached to the intellectual development and entertainment of all who wished. You could also buy handmade branded goods from Kamyanets and visit the 3D reality area.
The diligent work of a wonderful team and several dozen volunteers from 10 regions of Ukraine helped to make our festival truly professional and yet another pride of our city.
